I bought this ring, and yea, I knew it wasnt real sterling silver, but I've noticed that the "silver" turns blue and then sometimes it'll turn green, and then sometimes it'll go right back to silver. What causes this? I thought it was the ring just turning because its fake, but it turns right back to silver (And no, it is not a mood ring)Answer: possibly it could be tarnishing I believe

Out of these 2 choices I would go with Silver and Russian Diamonds. If the Silver can be Platinum or White Gold I would choose those in that order. If I had other choices I would go with Gold and Columbian Emerald. I just don't think diamonds are that interesting as anything except an accent. I am diabetic, and my friend has bought me a lovely ring when she went home to Morrocco, and I have just bought a new one today. Because I am diabetic, the acid in my skin removes the silver plating and then the copper turns my fingers green.
What can I put on my finger, or the ring to help prevent this.
I should have made myself I bit clearer on my question. I am unable to wear any silver jewellery unless it is 99.9% silver. Silver plate and sterling silver gets tarnished or comes of the jewellery very quickly. In the past I have been told that it is because of my diabetes it happens. My skin is more acidic.

You can buy micro pore tape from any chemist, buy the thin one and put a strip around your finger under the ring, cut the tape a little thinner so it won't show. You can also buy clear plasters now and you could do the same thing with those. I tried clear nail varnish but it didn't work for me.

It doesn't mean you are diabetic, any ring that is silver will contain a base metal, this is what some people are allergic to and can turn your finger green, because of the acid in your skin. Hi , I dont think has anything to do with you being diabetic, it happens in the end to all silver plated jewelry, as its not solid .
