freshwater pearls are irregular, and organic looking. it is normal for it to look like it has imperfection.Answer: Freshwater pearls are created by seeding the oysters with ...
Freshwater pearls are created by seeding the oysters with little pieces of plastic grit. The oyster then deposits layer after layer of nacre around it, which gives the pearl it's sheen. They grow in a variety of shapes, so I don't think the silverish water bubble is a bad thing unless you don't like it. If you don't and can still return or exchange it I would. Irregularity in pearls is okay on freshwater pearls, though.
MaggieQuestion: Huge silver hoop rings suit what kind of face? will it look nice on a round/oval face or someone who is heavy?
Answer: That depends. Are the hoops round or more oval in shape? ...
That depends. Are the hoops round or more oval in shape? Hoops are not all the same shape. If you have a round face and are a little heavy, I would choose hoops that are more oval in shape. This will create the illusion that your face is longer and thinner. True round hoops will only accentuate the fact that your face is round and in fact make it look rounder. People who are tall or heavy should opt for a larger earring. They have the frame to pull it off and anything small will just get lost. The metal (silver, gold, etc.) really doesn't matter. That is just a matter of preference and what color you like best.
I hope that this helps.Question: Where can I find a sterling silver-type cubic zirconia ring that looks like a wedding ring, but cheap, online?

About two years ago I got a sterling silver ring from Tiffany's, and I just love the ring so much that I never took it off. Over the years I noticed it got duller and duller, also there's just so many scratches on it. I'm sure Tiffany's will be able to clean and polish. I think any jewlery store should be able to restore it. Maybe buy yourself some silver polisher in the meantime from a jewlery counter.Answer: You can probably brighten it substantially with plain old ...
You can probably brighten it substantially with plain old silver polish, although that won't make the patina of scratches normal with jewelry worn on the hands disappear.
Sterling (and most silver plate) will get very shiny again with silver polish, and all but the deepest gouges will not be especially noticeable when it's gleaming.
I scratched a large, relatively flat surface of a silver ring. The jeweler I took it to for a buffing convinced me to leave it alone. "It looks bad to you, now, but when you've got five scratches and a scrape or two on this part, it's going to have some character and will look better than straight out of the box. Signs of wear show you love it. I'd rather see one ofrings a little worse for the wear, you know? The only repairs I recommend are bad clasps and damage to stone settings."Question: Silver ring leaving black smudges?
I recently purchased a silver ring and noticed that it is leaving a very faint black smudge on my finger. Somebody told me the ring needs to be cleaned (I cleaned it) and somebody else told me its not real silver. Who is right? How do I tell if it really is silver or not?Answer: It's not real silver, if it leaves marks.

its coming from your skin, its the dirt built up under the ring, being moved and stuff, coming out, take it off occasionally and clean the area under the ring.Answer: It not necessarily that it is not real...some people have ...
It not necessarily that it is not real...some people have more "acid" in their body that makes jewelry leave black marks...I for one cannot wear gold that is higher than 10 karat becasue it leaves terrible black rings aroundfinger...and it has nothing to do with it needing cleaning and it not being real...but if it is a case of it not being real...try putting clear nail polish on the inside of the ring and that should help the contact with your skin...Question: Nordstrom?? Ring?? Sterling Silver or crap??
Hi there!
I found a ring at Nordstrom I really like that's on clearance (there's only a few left). It has a new price sticker on top of the old one. The original price of the ring was $100 and it's new clearance price is only $30. I have been looking for a nice ring, but can't afford too heavy of a price tag at the moment (I'm a student going through college). I thought this one would be perfect. My only concern is that I'm not sure if it's good metal or not. I don't want to get a ring that will end up turning my finger green. I can't tell by looking at the sticker on the tag if it's serling silver or not, because the new tag completely covers the old one. I'm guessing that if the original price of the ring is $100 it better not turn a finger green...but I'm not sure. What do you think??
