I wouldn't. The reason is that why would you want to get soap and shampoo on it??? It will tarnish quicker and then youll have to go back to Tiffany's more often to get it cleaned. Trust me, tarnished jewelry is UGLY and you dont want that.
I just got back from Tiffany's and hadjewelry cleaned, each piece is older than 3 years so it needed some cleaning....it wasnt expensive at al (10.00 per necklace and 5.00 per bracelet) but still that can add up if you use your jewelry in the shower.Question: Does anyone know eher I could get a nice initial necklace? What would you rather have, a sterling silver necklace that says Tiffany on it from Tiffany's or diamond stud earrings? This is a gift for my best friends birthday. She just got her ears pierced and wears dangling earrings, but I thought studs would be sort of neutral, and she hasn't had a chance to build a stock of earrings so I can't say she wouldn't like studs. Or would a sterling silver necklace from Tiffany's be better? She's a girl that has a lot of rich friends while she isn't and complains that she wishes she could get something nice like her friends for once. I want to get her something from Tiffany's so she would have something to be a little proud of. Here is what I was considering.

My boyfriend gave me a Tiffany sterling silver necklace and it was turning yellow so I took toothbrush and toothpaste to clean it. It works but then there were alot of scratch marks on it. Can someone tell me how I can get rid of those scratch marks?

Get a polishing cloth that also has a rouge cloth that removes the scratches. Silver is a very soft metal so you will be able to remove most of the scratches. Or, you can take it to a jewelry store and have them to have the jeweler to buff the scratches out to make it look like new. Get the polishing cloth to keep it looking like new after you have it repaired. Good luck.

First off the toothpaste thing never is a good idea. It is abbrasive and will scratch gold, sterling silver, and even certain gemstones. But. unfortunately for you there is nothing that can be done. Your best bet is to go to a jewelry store, doesn't have to be Tiffany's, and buy "Connisours (spelling?) brand silver liquid cleaner as well as a silver polishing cloth. Those will remove the rest of the tarnish and when polished and shiny scratches are hard to see. Any jewelry store that has a jeweler on duty can buff your necklace and remove the scratches. We have done it routinely for clients.
Here in Florida where we have humidity and perspiration, we have had customers come in with their sterling jewelry getting a yellow or dark discoloration from the chemicals on their skin--the term for it is "smudge". So, you should wipe your silver down with a jeweler's cloth and wash it with a gentle soap and sponge between times.
