I would try eBay. That's usually a good waay to get things cheaper than retail. and often gently used items as well. Do some online research first to decide just what you want. The nice thing about eBay is that you are somewhat protected by their laws, and of course you can check out the feedback of the seller. I would'nt bid on a seller who was new selling an item of that value, but a power seller with 5000 positive feedback or something is different. Also, if you pay with Paypal. you have buyer's insurance. Good Luck!

It depends on his personality. If he likes brand name things just because people will be impressed, get the rolex. Everyone knows rolex, but not as many people are familiar with lacoste. But, if he just wants a good watch, go for lacoste or even a tag heuer. They make better watches than rolex inopinion.

Among basic dress watches, a Rolex "Cellini Classic" costs $3650, whilePatek Philippe "Calatrava" costs $15,000,Vacheron Constantin "Patrimony" costs $12,500, andCartier "Tank L.C." costs $12,100. If your lover wants a dress watch, buy him one of these like mine, not a cheaper Rolex. If he wears sports watches more than dress watches, check the Jaeger-LeCoultre "Master" line that is much better made than Rolex. JLC tests each watch severely 1000 hours before it is sold. I own about 50 watches, and I have written several books about them. Practically no one, except repairmen, knows anything about watch movements, but I am working on a book about that. In 2005, I published new editions of "WORLD RECORD WATCHES" and "THE MOST COMPLICATED WRISTWATCHES". Now, I am working on a 4th edition of "THE COSTLIEST WATCH BRANDS".
