This is just a basic guide to go by, because most rolexes, and all new rolexes are mechanical, not quarts they have some heft to them. Another good indicator is price. If it's not selling for what you think it should, and seems amazingly low, it probably is a fake.

If you bought it from an authorized dealer there is no way they would risk their Rolex franchise to screw you on a 3K watch, not gonna happen. Return the watch to the store and get it repaired, At that price, I'm assuming it was a used one but it should still have a warranty from the store.
