You could look for one of those guys from the movies with the shifty eyes in a black trench coat that's all lined with watches on the inside.
But the best internet source for knock-offs is eBay. Just buy one of the "real" Rolexes on there. It'll be a knock-off.Answer: http://www.nike588.com/Products.asp?Classid=230

Instead of purchasing a rolex knock off I would purchase a better quality watch than the knock off that is of a lower cost than a true rolex. I personally prefer Steinhauser, Swatch, Citizen and Skagen. But if you truely want a fake rolex I would check out ebay or a Watch/jewler re-seller that sells preowned watches.Answer: Hi, There is a realistic approach to getting a replica ...

Take it to a professional, ask him not to take it apart,
An honest jeweler with some backround knowledge of watches should help
It shouldn't take more than an hour and he should be able to do it right in front of you. He shouldn't charge anything more than a small fee for his expertieceAnswer: Take it to a respectable jeweler...

Rolexes generally don't take batteries (it's been a few years since I've sold them, so I'm drawing a blank as to whether ANY of them do...but I don't remember any of them taking batteries), so that's a red flag right there. Wear it on you wrist for a while (to move it around) and see if it "wakes up"...they generally run off of kinetic energy, and will stop if they are still for too long.
To be absolutely certain, take it to a jeweler or watchmaker that sells Rolexes...they will be able to tell you for sure, and shouldn't charge you to do so. (You have to pay for an appraisal, but not if they're just telling you whether or not it's real). A knowledgeable salesperson or watchmaker will be able to tell very quickly if it's real or fake.Answer: http://www.qualitytyme.net/pages/rolex_or_replica.html

Rolex has manufactured quartz watches in the past, therefore with batteries called OysterQuartz, but they are rare !
Best is indeed to go to a watch store and open the watch, check the movement. It is easy to spot a fake movement for a professional watchmaker.
Good luck !Question: How do you tell the difference between genuine and knockoff Rolex watch?
I get unsolicited emails sometimes offering knockoff Rolex watches. The knockoff Rolex products look essentially identical to the genuine type. Do jewelry stores confiscate fake Rolex & other lucrative brand watch products as required by law? Why can't USA and other nations where the manufacturers produce genuine watches pressure the particular nations to crack down on producing knockoff for copyright/patent violation?Answer: dad bought a fake one and brougt it to the rolex store ...

When you go to a serious (Rolex) watch dealer, he will always see the difference with a copy ! It is the only way to be sure. The difference is sure in the movement used for starters.
They are never traded through email offers, count on it.
I live in Shanghai at this moment, and can inform you that all the foreign tourists go and look for the copy market. I live nearby, daily I am asked where it is exactly ! So if we refrain from wanting to buy copies, the problem could be solved as it would not be lucrative any more.
Personally I would never want to own any copy of anything. Go for real, it is worth it.Question: where does the turnograph name come from in the rolex line?

The fact that the bezel turns, and it can be used as a chronograph (interval timer). It is an example of a "portmanteau word". I love Rolexes by the way.Answer: In 1953, the Turn-o-graph was introduced by Rolex, model ...
In 1953, the Turn-o-graph was introduced by Rolex, model 6202. This bezel design developed later into the Submariner and GMT Master series. It featured a rotating bezel to measure elapsed time, known by Rolex as a time-recording rim. On the bezel, the minute divisions were shown as small circles, and every tenth minute was marked as a numeral.
Turn is evident, graph refers to the graphical representation of the elapsed time.
The idea is to have a rotating bezel that could be turned to read elapsed time, was ideal for reading the diving time or a as it was promoted in advertising for the airline traveller. Pan Ams demand to create a watch indicating a second time resulted in 1953 in the GMT. |
