It depends on what type of pearls you are looking for and what your budget is. Are the earrings going to be single pearl post earrings? If you want to buy natural real pearls---meaning that they are nature made without help from man ---they are going to cost you a small fortune. If you want more than one pearl or a string of these pearls, don't be surprised if they don't match each other EXACTLY. There may be a slight difference in color and shape. Nature doesn't repeat itself exactly. There are partiially man made pearls , where the oysters are helped along by man. Kind of like "farmed pearls." or "cultured pearls." These are just as lovely as natural pearls and are usually what you see at upscale department stores like Macy's or Bloomies, and even at fine jewelry stores, as well. They can also run you a small fortune. But sometimes, if you catch them in a sale, they can be affordable, about $200.00. Then there are completely man made pearls, meaning that an oyster didn't have much to do with it. These can be very lovely , found in the costume jewelry section of Macy's. They tend to look perfect in shape and color and match each other completely. Inwedding, I woremother's real pearls that she was given byfather back in 1947. But I bought finely man made pearls forbracelet and earrings, and they were beautiful if I say so myself. I paid about $100.00 for the bracelet and for the earrings, about $70.00. I just got married in Oct.2005, so I hope on25th anniversary, I'll get some real pearl earrings and one daydaughter, God willing, will wear her grandmother's necklace and her mothers earrings. Now you can definitely find cheaper pearls and if they are for like one event or so, they should pass just fine if you are careful buying them. Look and make sure that the pearls have not been damaged and the coating coming off of the pearls. These are basically painted glass or plastic. Also, there are fresh water pearls, These are in the same catagories as the other pearls. But they are usually cheaper and are beautiful for the summer in multiple strand necklaces. They come in th real pearls, and man made pearls. These are the odd shaped pearls, usually shaped in longer irregular shapes. I have some that I love and are real. I bought them for myself when I graduated college and startednursing career. Back in 1982, a necklace of three strands, 18" long cost me about $275.00. OK, sorry I went on so long. Moreover, you are supposed to make clear that what kind of precious metal is made with pearls into a pearl jewelry piece, platinum, gold or silver? as well as with other decorations like diamonds, crystal? You probably won't find them "ready-made", but any jewelry store that offers custom design should be able to change them for you for a small charge.

On the internet you will reach a much broader range of people who want your item. Just make sure to do some market research on the item you are trying to sell, to see how much it goes for generally and what sort of keywords you should utilize so people find it when they search. If you want to stay local, it would help to have it looked at by a professional before trying to sell it. Its always good to know about what you are selling. Also, unless you bought it at thrift or received it as a gift, don't plan on getting what you paid for it. This especially applies if you take it to consignment, or pawn it.

Question: Mother Of Pearl Clip-on Earrings?

I am in desperate need of information if anyone knows how to convert dangly earrings to clip on ones. I'm getting married in 9 days and just found out that two of my younger attendants do not have pierced ears. Does ANYONE know of any stores in the Brampton/Mississauga area that might either do that for me or can suggest a kraft type item that I can purchase to do it myself? I was told by a jeweler that it would cost approx 100 per pair to get it done by a laser welder, any other heat would tarnish the mother of pearl stone. help!!!!
