I'm looking to buy pearl earrings (studs) but I'm not sure where to start. What are the different types of pearls that are available, I've seen names such as freshwater, akoya etc... but which are the best quality? I definitely do not want fake ones. first of all I don't recommend you buying it online!! go to like a jewelry store to find out more about it. you can't really tell the difference from a real pearl to a fake one (unless the shape itself, a real pearl can't form a perfect circle unless it's been buffed or what not!)...but definitely research online for different types (on ur free time or something hehe...) I have fake pearls and they look great actually, I love it!!! I got it for $10 at dillards! what a deal..rite?!

the pearl has fallen off of the stud and I was wondering if anyone kenw of a way to repair that without taking it to a jewler.

Yes, I do love pearls. Allpearls are South Sea Pearls. I have them in necklaces of all colors, earrings and rings of all designs. But I also perfer all the settings to have diamonds on them except for the necklaces. Pearls are so beautiful but you hv to be careful not to leave it in your safe for too long. It need to breath and be careful not to spray perfume directly on them cos it will 'eat' the surface of the pearls. You could start off by getting a fresh water pearl but if you could afford Akoya would be much better. But best to save the money for a SSP.
