i am allergic to cheap metals too. buttons on pants, where the little metal parts touchskin, and cheap jewelry makes an itchy rash. I have found that if I paint the jewelry with clear nail polish where it touchesskin, I dont get the allergic reaction. this works well for earing posts, and the inside of where buttons touchskin. I dont have any problems with sterling silver or surgical steel, gold, white gold, or titanium.Answer: Safest bet is titanium or implant grade surgical steel.
