Well, it depends. What's wrong with it? If you just want to clean it, well, I wouldn't suggest toothpaste... probably hot water and antibacterial soap, or maybe hand sanitizer. If you want to clean it very thoroughly, I would suggest using a toothbrush that, of course, hasn't been used.Answer: as funny as it sounds I heard using water and a denture ...

Whew.... do NOT use toothpaste. It will clot up diamonds or any other stones... scratches soft ones such as onyx and with repetative use it breaks down your gold by scratching it. Windex is actually very good... it cleans diamonds and all stones safely. (We recommend using it when taking off a tight ring rather than lotion... lotion clots up diamonds also.) Amonia (the yellow kind, not the clear) and plain old soap and water do the trick with a very soft toothbrush.Question: What is a good way to clean sterling silver jewelry w/o buying?

Silver polish and a toothbrush, or flannel cloth should get your necklaces shiney bright. Silver polish is kind of pastey/goopy. Coat the necklaces really thoroughly, leave it for 5 minutes or so, scrub it lightly with the toothbrush and rinse in warm water. You may need to do some spot scrubbing after that. It's pretty easy.

Put some in a glass, put your jewellery in it, let it sit for about a day or so, and then clean it a bit with a toothbrush and a little regular soap. Rinse it with clear water, and this should do the trick! |
