soak it in hot water with few drop of mild dish washing detergent for 10 minutes...brush the bottem (if there's opening) with soft brush like baby toothbrush (un-used ones of course)...rinse under running water....blow dry with hair dryer...it will look sparklingly new....DO NOT USED TOOTHPASTE....as it contains tiny particles that will make you diamond look dull especially when it get stuck underneath which make it harder to clean...OR you can send it to your nearest jeweller and get them to clean in ultra-sonic machine which vibrates all dirt..note:cream or talc that get stuck on the ring will also make your diamond look dull

This technique recommended before packing silver away and is said to work especially well on intricately-patterned pieces. Wrap the entire object in aluminum foil, making sure it touches the foil at at least one point. Put some slits in the foil. Place the wrapped object in a large glass, enameled or stainless steel cooking pot. Fill the pot with a solution of 4 to 5 tablespoons of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) per quart of water. Use enough to cover the object completely. Simmer for thirty minutes. Remove the object, rinse and dry thoroughly. If tarnish remains, repeat.

1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Mix togeather. Add a piece of tinfoil. You can heat it up on the stove a bit (the hot water speeds up the reaction). I do not suggest this with items that have stones. Chains or solid silver rings are fine. Never put amber in water, it will destroy the stone. When it's clean look at the dull side of the foil. You should see it has darkened. That's where the tarnish goes. You can also use this with ANY other silver items besides jewelry.

Answer: If you want to have shine on the jewellry apply some ...
If you want to have shine on the jewellry apply some toothpaste (not the gel based but the white toothpaste) on the jewellery with an eyebrown brush and keep it till it dries , clean the jewellry well with water after the paste has dried off with a eyebrow brush. Pat dry with a soft cloth. Detergent Bath Prepare a small bowl of warm suds with any of the mild liquid detergents used in the home such as dishwashing liquid. Brush the pieces with an eyebrow brush or old tooth brush while they are in the suds. Then transfer them to a wire tea strainer and rinse them under running water. Pat dry with a soft lintless cloth. Cold Water Soak Make a half-and-half solution of cold water an household ammonia in a cup. Soak the pieces 30 minutes. Lift out and tap gently around the back and front of the mounting with an old soft toothbrush. Swish in the solution once more and drain on tissue paper. Quick-Drip Method Buy one of the brand name liquid jewelry cleaners, with its kit, choosing the kind most useful to you. Read the label and follow its instructions. Don't touch your clean diamonds with your fingers. Handle your jewelry by its edges. Ultrasonic Cleaner There are many types of small machines on the market that will clean, in a matter of minutes, any piece of jewelry that can be dunked in a liquid. They consist of a metal cup which you fill with water and detergent. When the machine is turned on, a high- frequency turbulence creates the cleaning action. Since each machine is slightly different, read the instructions very carefully before use.

i would suggest retiring it. fake jewerly tends to turn your skin bluish green. or in your case maybe even orange. it may even cause a rash, or a break out. it's happened to me before with cheap silver jewerly. but if you want to attempt to salvage it there is some suff called tarnex. but idk how good it is, it may just erode your necklac more.

for one its not real silver. to clean it you need to sand it off alittle, maybe use a nail file. use some model car paint in the same color silver or nail polish if possible with a very fine brush, as the necklace may stick together. after the paint dries use a clear coat to add shine for the new look. good luck with this as it is very hard to do. you might use a magnifying glass to help you along.

Answer: Rust will eat off any finish. No it isn't real silver ...
Rust will eat off any finish. No it isn't real silver and it probably can't b fixed unless you want to spend more money and have a jeweler dip it in real silver and then it might happen again. The best thing to clean jewelry and silver of any kind is vinegar. Toothpaste is good on jewelry too. I have used these many times and the vinegar onsilver serving and punch bowl sets.

toothepaste! I swear it works. come on, what have you got to lose?! toothepaste is effective and inexpensive, and everyone has it in their household (or at least I hope everyone has it..) i also had this exact question one time on an expensive sterling silver charm bracelet. it was starting to tarnish because I haven't worn it in so long, but I wanted to fix it. I found out I could use tootepatse, and I was like.. what the heck?! I didn't think it would work. I thought it would ruinbracelet, butbracelet was already ruined so I didn't care. so I tried it, and it worked!bracelet looks brand new, and i'm wearing it right now :) i don't know how it'd work on your necklace though, seeing that it was only $7 from claires. it doesn't hurt to try though.
