The best way to clean them is with steam. other cleansers and polishes can leave a film. There is a way to do it yourself, without the help of a specific jewelry cleaner. Boil some water on the stove and place a veggie steamer on top and place your jewelry in the steamer and let it steam for about 20 minutes and other way is clean it with tooth powder.

Answer: If you insist on using a chemical cleaner, then use the ...
If you insist on using a chemical cleaner, then use the gold. It will be less destructive then the silver cleaner. I would never, ever recommend toothpaste on gold jewelry of any kind as it is an aggressive cleanser, (not unlike comet) and will leave scratches, especially if you use a tool such as a brush (shudder, please don't) which will also leave scratches. Scratches are not good. Warm soapy water with a very mild detergent such as dish soap is good for cleaning gold. That and a polish cloth designed for use on gold, should be all you need. Gold will not tarnish like silver. It will oxidize but the effects are much less than silver.
