Absolutely!
Keep in mind that they are removing gold from the band, and that gold has value. Gold today is around $835 an ounce and thats not chump change, so dont hesitate to ask for it back or make sure the price you pay reflects the fact they are keeping it and crediting you for that.Answer: Yep.

Yes, they have two methods of doing that, one is they heat it and shrink it, that allows up to a 2 size difference. If it's a ring with a pattern that goes all the way around and they don't want to damage the pattern this is the method they use.
The second method and most common is they cut a piece out and weld it back then polish it up again and you can't tell it was ever done.
Not all places have the ability to do the first method but most jewelers do the second method. There is no limit to the size they can change it with that method. It can be made larger or smaller.Comment from :

Sure they do. You won't get much for them though. That's how they make their money -- they give you very little for it, and if you don't come back to claim it in time they sell it for a lot more than they gave you for it. You can give it a try, but don't be surprised if they'll only give you about $10.00 to $20.00 for a gold chain you paid over $100.00 for.Answer: The ones in our neighborhood do. Out of these 2 choices I would go with Silver and Russian Diamonds. If the Silver can be Platinum or White Gold I would choose those in that order. If I had other choices I would go with Gold and Columbian Emerald. I just don't think diamonds are that interesting as anything except an accent. Personal preference and you should get what you prefer and fits your color best.Answer: Go with whichever one you think is the prettiest.

4 carat? if you have to ask, I'd guess it is not real, if you come from a family of millionaires, I don't think you'd be asking here, and if not, where would you get a $50,000 diamond?

.Give it to me and I'll tell you;)
Seriously, the only sure way to tell is if you can find the carbon spot in it looking through a jewelers eye. Some diamonds that are of high quality will be hard to find the infraction. A diamond tester is of coarse the best way. I've heard of several ways you can try at home though. Place a small drop of water, on top of the stone, if it runs off immediately then it's real, if it beads up its not. Another way
is to hold it under a black light, you will have to do a comparison with other jewelry you have. The way I do it is by looking from the top of the diamond down into the center where all points meet, if the bottom is more of an illusion it is more then likely real. If you hold it in the light and it refracts to many colors it probably isn't |
