There is no such thing as White Gold. It's just Yellow Gold that has been Rhodium Plated. That's how White Gold is made. It will go yellow after a while, because of daily wear and tear, skin acidity, perfumes on the skin, etc... The next best thing is to take it to a jeweler and get it Rhodium plated again. It will have to be done from time to time for it to be called White Gold .

Answer: If you have a good quality white gold ring it will not be ...
If you have a good quality white gold ring it will not be necessary to have it re rhodiumed on an annual basis. White gold is not yellow gold coated in rhodium. There are varying qualities of white gold with their whiteness dictated by the metals they are alloyed with (in Europe generally platinum and palladium and Nickel in th USA). Here is a link with some information on white gold (in a comparison article with platinum), http://www.wightmangoldsmiths.co.uk/platcomp.htm To get the colour back first I would recomend cleaning the piece, here is a guide on how to best do this, http://www.wightmangoldsmiths.co.uk/jewellery%20clean.htm do not using anything abrasive such as toothpaste (for more information on caring for jewellery and giving do's and don't here is an article, http://www.wightmangoldsmiths.co.uk/care.htm). If cleaning does not work then you will have to have the piece re-rhodiumed. My advice to you is go to a respectable local goldsmith or jeweller. Generally they will be able to give you the best advice. I hope this is useful to you.

It depends on the style. If the ring has a lot of stones then it could be very costly to have it down sized as the stones need to be removed and the ring pretty much re-made. If you do end up purchasing it, be sure to tell them you want the gold that they remove.

12K white gold probably wouldn't do that. An inexpensive fix for the one you already own would be to coat the inside with clear nail polish, too. Answer: Not with white gold, but with yellow gold you can. 24K Gold ...
Not with white gold, but with yellow gold you can. 24K Gold (99.9% pure gold) is yellow, there is no such thing as 24K White gold. To get white gold, they add zinc & nickel (to give it its silver color)...... The K in gold is how pure it is. So in yellow gold a 10K ring would have say more copper in it, giving it more a burnt orange look.... With white gold they will just add more zinc/nickel/tin to it, so the silver color will look the same, it will just have about 4% less gold in it (14K vs 10K).
