the ring can't be real gold sweetie.Answer: Gold is inert. One of the other metals present (silver, ...
Gold is inert. One of the other metals present (silver, nickel, copper) in the jewelry is probably causing the color change. Skin reactions to gold do exist. But they involve gold salts, not the metal, and the reactions are described as contact dermatitis.
If 14k gold touches some women's skin, it will turn the skin grey or black. This generally only works on women, and is said to be a sign of iron deficiency.
The base metal content, mainly copper, in low carat gold alloys can and does get attacked by acids in perspiration and in the atmosphere. The result is oxides and other salts which rub off onto skin and fabrics leaving black or green marks. The lower the gold content of the alloy, and the higher the proportion of base metal, the more likely the alloy is to be attacked by acids and other chemicals. Conversely, the higher the carat quality and the lower the base metal content, the less likely there will be any reaction with chemicals.Question: Gold rings, does anyone get black around their fingers?
Hi, I wear gold rings but always get black underneath them, and on the fingers that touch the sides of the rings. A lady at the jewellers said it's a chemical reaction from me that causes this. If I sweat more then they go black more. I also get it at the back of my gold earrings. Does anyone else suffer with this, I hate it because I have to keep wiping my fingers.

My husband just bought me an expensive silver watch. My engagment ring is a solitaire with a gold band and I wear a simple gold wedding band. Does this clash with the watch. Should I think about taking it back? It is stressing me out as I do not even know if I can take it back and we have made a colossal mistake. This is a watch I would plan to wear everyday. I was worried that a two toned gold watch would be too over the top for my life of running around with our kids but now I am rethinking----or 'overthinking'.
Thanks for your input....I think I will go back to the store and look at the two toned silver and gold again. I had dismissed it before as 'over the top' for my life. Any thoughts?Answer: wear your watch on a different wrist

Easy. Watch sounds lovely as does your rings. You could try wearing it on the other wrist. Or another option would be to get a plain silver and gold chain bracelet and wear with watch on same wrist. This would blend the silver of the watch in with the gold and diamond tones of your rings.
Win win situation for all.

24ct. is the best.
You need to buy a gold chain also for him to put his ring on while working on cars. I have had a few fella friends lost fingers with rings on.
Make it a fun thing, by putting it on a chain in the morning as he is getting ready to go to work and when He comes home before his shower take the chain off and put his ring back on his finger. It is like a remembrance of getting married all over again.
Hope it works for you.

Whenhusband and I got married we didn't have much cash so we went to Wal-mart got a $20 ring (was supposed to be temp until we got more money)well I then bought him one from Brodkeys, he preferred the Wal-mart one for comfort reasons, just yesterday it snapped after 12.5 yearsAnswer: If you want really long-lasting snd tough rings, you might ...
If you want really long-lasting snd tough rings, you might want platium, steel or titanium rings. Gold rings will scratch and it would be hard to clean if he gets grease on it.Question: Where can I find not-too-expensive white gold purity rings?

Sotres like Target and Wal Mart should have tons to choose from.
Question: is a gold plated ring real?.?
Answer: no it will fade and turn colors
no it will fade and turn colorsAnswer: Usually it's gold plated over sterling silver.... so ...
Usually it's gold plated over sterling silver.... so they almost sort of paint a silver ring with a gold finish. So it depends on the ring and depends on what you mean by "real".Answer: It is a real ring, but it's not a real gold ...
It is a real ring, but it's not a real gold ring.
Gold plate means that a thin layer or "plate" of gold was painted on to the ring, which is probably made of some cheap metal. So it's not as expensive or durable as a real gold ring.Answer: it is a real gold plated ring..?it can't be anything ...
it is a real gold plated ring..?it can't be anything else..it is real gold in the gold plating.. but it is so thin the base metal which is usually pewter..or bronze..sometimes becomes prominent and you can get marking on your skin from the metal oxidizing with your perspiration..a real gold ring is gold mixed with tin to give it strength the purest gold is 22c but is very soft and can bend easily ..so most intrinsic gold is 9c for chains etc.. |
