You cna replate it with white gold so I would think so. No idea how much though. Sorry!Answer: It would be possible to replicate a gold ring in platinum if ...
It would be possible to replicate a gold ring in platinum if you took it to a good goldsmith/jeweller. As for replate it could be done with rhodium and is done with most white gold rings to give it that sparkle.
With regard to cost the platinum ring would be a lot more expensive than the gold version. Platinum is more expensive per gram than gold and it is also heavier gold.
Here is an article that compares gold and platinum so this will give you a better idea of possible problems and costs,

It is totally Dependant on the ring. If it is stone set then resizing can be made very difficult due to the fact that sizing up or down can loosen the settings. With non stone set rings you have a little more freedom with resizing. A good goldsmith/jeweller will not stretch a ring, but rather make a cut and add a piece (laser welded in). The same should be done with downsizing where a piece will be cut out, and the ring reshaped if necessary.
For more information on the resizing of jewellery here is a link that goes into a bit more detail in the sizing process, http://www.wightmangoldsmiths.co.uk/repairncare4.htm

Ok so I ordered a class ring from Jostens, and ordered the yellow lustrium as the metal. According to the Jostens site, it says it's 24k electroplated. According to other sources yellow lustrium is small amounts of gold fused into the surface of lustrium.
Which is it? If it is electoplate, what addition care do I need to do to make sure it remains in good condition? Some say the gold electroplate should last a lifetime, if you don't like shower or wash with it, but I also heard that electroplate can scratch off easily. Also, electroplated gold can be drastically different in terms of thickness.
Kinda confused. Is there anyone who works at Jostens that could answer my questions, or just anyone who knows?Answer: i'm not sure about what its made of, butring from ...
i'm not sure about what its made of, butring from jostens is white lustrium. I got the martinique all I have to say is be very careful with it, i've hit it on a few things and it bends really easily... which pretty much sucks. I always takering off when I shower, just to be safe, and since it started getting banged up i've been wearing it like only twice a week. (i was wearing it 7 days a week at first) make sure you take it off before you do any handy work and keep the box it comes in so you don't lose it lol. mine doesnt scratch easily but i'm not sure how different that would be compared to the yellow lustrium.. sorry I couldnt answer your question, but I just thought i'd shareinput since we both got our rings in lustrium =DQuestion: How would u know if a gold ring is fake or not ?

take it to a pawn shop that buys gold. They will test it. It is really simple, and some shops wont even charge you. It only takes a couple of minutes.
If you place real gold in water it will probably sink and displace water if its in a jug. If its not real gold it will probably float. It's all about density and how much water is displaced.
A very simple way to tell if somehting is real gold is to put some foundation and face powder on the back of your hand and then rub the gold against it. If a black mark is left behind it is real gold. Real gold creates a chemical reaction with most makeup that fake gold will not.
One easy way to find out weather gold is fake or not.... put a magnet really close, if it sticks even a little its all fake and BS. Real gold will not show any affect toward magnetsAnswer: it would start to go off colour and go bronze. also ...
it would start to go off colour and go bronze. also sometimes when you take the ring off you will have like a blue/green colour around your finger.Answer: In the US it should be stamped.

I recently had a 9carat Diamond cluster ring dipped in white gold at my H.samuel's. I was aware that after a period of time my ring would tarnish and I would need to have it re-dipped, I did not know that my ring would loose its bright origainl colour however is it possible to reverse my ring back to it's original gold colour.
gong back to the question I just asked regarding advice on my gold ring. It hasn't tarnished yet! But I am aware that when it does it will go to a dull gold. so I need to know if I can get it back to it's original 9ct gold colour

The ring would have been rhodium plated to give it it's white gold look, this is quite common and is used a lot on 9ct yellow gold to give the settings the appearance of being white gold, ALL white gold jewellery is rhodium plated as white gold is not really that white and the rhodium will eventually wear off , how long before that happens depends upon the wearer and how much rhodium was plated on. Your ring can be returned to the yellow gold colour either by stripping (a chemical process) or by re-plating in yellow goldAnswer: i'm not completaly sure but I would take it back and ...
