Silver would keep it a little more casual and funky, but you could still dress it up, so I'd probably go for silver. if its like 10k 14k or 18k its more likley to be combined with a metal which usally changes the color the most common colors it may turn into may be
A light yellowish sort of pinkish color
a dull sort of yellow
A really fake looking yellow
if its any of these colors
then it may not be entirley gold
10K gold is like 30% gold
14K gld is like 60% gold
and 18k gold is like 75 % gold
