Question: can anyone help me identify this gold(?) chain necklace?
here's some pics of it. http://i25.tinypic.com/2rdiwzs.jpg http://i31.tinypic.com/n6atcl.jpg and http://i27.tinypic.com/2kef46.jpg also, here toy can (kinda) see the clip http://i27.tinypic.com/1y65vd.jpg on the tab of the clip it says MONET, and on another part it has a symbol that I can't make out, then MONE as if the T ran off the side. it's gold colored and more weighty than it looks, but doesn't have any other defining marks. what is it worth? could it really be gold? I hope you can pardon the picture quality, my better camera got stepped on and i'm stuck with using my Kodak easyshare until then =/ any ideas on where this gold chain comes from or it's value? thank you for your input. oh, I forgot to mention that it is 18 in long, with no pendent, 1/4 in wide and 1/16 in thick.

Monet is a cheap costume jewelry line sold at Macy's. Real gold is marked, BTW. You would have found a mark when you looked if it were gold. It would be marked something like 10k, 14k, etc.

I was allowed to look at it when I wanted to withmom holding the ring box but I was not allowed to wear it. I know that I would have lost it as I didn't know the true value (monetary and symbolic) of the ring. Maybe let her know that it is hers and talk about the meaning behind it and mention that she will be able to wear it when she is older.
