You should ask about the karat weight of the gold. In India and Asia, 24K gold is the norm. In Europe, 18 kt, In the USA, 14 kt. If it is 10K, don't buy it, it doesn't have enough gold to count as fine jewelry.
For a bracelet, also ask the length, 7 1/2" to 8 1/2 " is pretty good unless your sister is quite thin or quite heavy.
