Question: Is this real Christian Dior? (gold bracelet) experts only, please!?
I bought a gold bracelet at a church fleamarket thing. The bracelet appears to be vintage. I don't know if it is real, though. It says ChrDior(C) in the inside of the bracelet. help? I tried to take a picture, but it is hard to get the stamp on it, because of the flash. but maybe the picture of it will help, so if I can i'll try adding that soon. also, well I guess it's not exactly a flea market? it's kind of like a church thing, and most of the things people were selling are new, but just cheap, and the bracelet and a few other stuff were the only ones that were used/old.

No it wouldn't say ChrDior(C) because I should say just Dior. though if you like it you shouldn't be bothered..though you did buy it from a fleamarket so it generally wouldn't be real. =] x

Answer: If you bought it at a church sale, there is a slight chance ...
If you bought it at a church sale, there is a slight chance it might be real. It might not be high end, it might be from a costume jewelry line licensed by Dior, where the Dior house had others make copies of the high end designs. Or it might be 100%authentic. You might want to do a web search for sites with vintage dior jewelry (not ebay!) and see if they have more information on authentic vintage Dior and the markings on vintage Dior. People have been know to buy treasures for cheap at church sales, you might be one of the lucky ones.

The dark areas of your bracelet are corrosion. Pure gold does not corrode, and it is unlikely that even 14K gold would corrode like you are claiming. If there is any gold in your bracelet, it's not enough to make it valuable. Well, at least that poor Asian didn't lose out on much... Best wishes!

it could be fake but if its not. its just tarnished, this happened toengagement ring and I got really mad because I thought it was a fake, it turned a dark almost copper color... yeah but I took it to the jewelers and they cleanded it then gave me this cloth-like thing to clean it with in the future. go to a jewelry store and ask about it, some places give free cleaning.

Answer: In India, gold is considered an auspicious metal, and gold ...
In India, gold is considered an auspicious metal, and gold bracelets (or bangles as we usually refer to them) are given to girls on many occasions, and sometimes even for no specific reason other than dad got a raise, as a gift. They are specifically gifted when the girl comes of age. For marriage, the number of bangles is determined by what you can afford (and of course, by the number your relatives gave their daughter for her wedding). The actual number is determined by the total amount of gold jewelery, a middle class family would give about 50 sovereigns of gold jewelery, maybe 10-15 bangles at a sovereign each, and the rest as chains etc. None of these numbers are absolute, the current state of the Indian economy means certain sections of people can afford to give a lot more, but that is countered with the thinking that this is just an indirect way to give the groom's family a dowry to take the girl, and this is something to be disapproved of and discouraged. It depends on how traditional or modern the family is.
