You should consider getting an appraisal and having it insured. Just byown guess (I work in jewelry), and of course depending on color/clarity, it sounds like at least upwards of 3g!!

Oh there is absolutely an interest. I think lots of people are looking for something simple yet elegant. You'd need to make sure that the diamonds were somehow certified. I don't know how many people would want to make a final decision without seeing the ring first.

Mine is a past present future ring that has 3 princess cut diamonds on it. It is a total of 1 carat. The diamond in the middle is 1/2 carat, and then the ones on each side are 1/4 carat. I would go for the 1 carat if I were you, rather than 1 1/2 or 2 because the 1 carat doesn't stick out too far, so it doesn't get caught on anything.

I think that you and your boyfriend should go to the stores together and find one that you both like. I don't believe that the size of the stone really matters because this ring comes from the heart. What I or anyone else likes will probably not be something that you would like as we all have our own preference. This is onlyopinion, but good luck and have a good life together.
