I cant tell you if $260 is a good price, because I dont know how clear the rock is. everything matters when u buy diamond jewelry. how clear it is, where u bought it from....etc. but I can tell that your diamond is pretty small, right?Question: Women would you be mad if your engagement ring was a man made diamond?

It makes no sense to me at all. The diamond is used because it is a rare and precious object. That is a symbol for the seriousness of the proposal. Only the real thing underlines that statement well enough.
If the budget is the issue, why not consider another gem that is natural and untreated ?
Engraving ? The way to look at is is under UV light and observe the growth patterns !
