idk personally I wouldn't wantdiamond covered in chocolate. I would like to know what it looks like when I recieved it, waiting for the chocolate to melt or picking or sucking it off would be a drag. Then it would need a good clean.

Korvyn had the best idea but, hamrrfan pointed out some VERY good cautions. Suggestion: Get some cherry cordials and remove the cherry and syrup from the inside of one of them. You can remove the bottom of one of the candies by looping some thread around it's circumference and pulling the ends so the loop will get smaller and cut through the chocolate. After you remove the bottom and inside of the candy put the ring inside and reattach the bottom. I can't guarantee your fiancee won't chip a tooth but, this will lessen the chance more than if the ring were coated in chocolate. BTW I recently got married myself Thursday the 20th.

Only if it's plated then it can be stripped and redone. Solid gold can't be changed. Since is all about labor, it depends on the shop & the quality of the gold. A lot of shopping around and getting estimates is needed.

No melting needed. They can reset them, I am guessing 300 for all of it, including the new setting or "ring"

i guess, u are asking so, coz u arent in india. in india, this is known as resetting, the diamonds are cut out from the prong( if any) , used to set in same ring or another. the gold is either melted and reused, but with decreased purity of gold. there is also wastage involved in melting and remaking of a gold ring along with high labour costs. if you can find a jewelery maker in your country to do so..even I dont know how much it'll cost, but on an average, it does work better to give away the ring in exchange of new ring else give away just the gold and reset the diamonds.

Answer: Too much of the gold would disappear in the melting and ...
Too much of the gold would disappear in the melting and cooling process to be able to make another ring. Unless your current 25 diamonds are of significant weight each (think over .10 ct each) it would be cheaper to just buy a new ring. If you really want to keep the stones you have, look to spend at least $300-$600 for a setting, plus another $300-$400 for the labor involved in taking your stones out and resetting them in an eternity band...
