It could be two things:
1) Very high quality (rare) diamonds have a very tiny serial number lightscribed or engraved in them. This is for insurance purposes more than anything.
2) It could be a regular variation in the minerals inside the diamond. This is what makes diamonds so priceless - most diamonds have some other mineral in it if they are 1/2 carat or larger. Any quality jeweler would be able to tell you.
Think of the black spot as your unique marker.Answer: return yor ring its faulty and has a defect get a new one ...

If the spot is in the ring itself, no problem have another ring or maybe it dissapears after cleaning with ultrasonics.
If the spot is in the diamond then it is probably an included crystal if the diamond is a natural diamond. Very normal and common ! If you are worried, visit your local jeweller and have them clean the ring, ask about the inclusion.
Enjoy, don't be worried !Answer: yes it is real, back in the day people called these carbon ...
yes it is real, back in the day people called these carbon spots. diamonds are created through hight heat and pressure and being forced upward through a volcano shaft. in the process the carbon sometimes picks up small bits of debris, which is what you see in your diamond, mineral debris. other types of inclusions in a diamond are feathers, cracks, grain lines etc. this is how we rate a diamonds worth, well one of the ways, it is a vital C called clarity. read this go down to diamonds. it will explain more, your diamonds may just be a lesser quality http://jewelrypurchase.blogspot.com/Question: if a diamond ring has 5 points what does points mean I know carat is to do with size of stone?

Each point is .01 ct... so a five point diamond is only .05 ct.. a 1/4 is .25 ct - therefore the 1/4 ct(.25) is much larger then the .05ct or 5 point, ring....Answer: A quarter carat is 25 points and so a larger diamond ...
A quarter carat is 25 points and so a larger diamond although if they are in the same price bracket the quality may be poorer.
As an eternity ring anything less than a quarter carat will be tiny :o(Question: I am wondering how to clean rings that have gemstones like rubies and diamonds, besides the jewelry cleaner.?

Dont put them in an ultrasonic machine ! Never with gems except very high clarity diamonds.
So, mild soap and a toothbrush are the best. Don't use high acidity soaps or any bleaching product since that might attack your metal settings and ring.
For daily cleaning I use a towel made from microfibers, like the one's for cleaning your glasses, to take the grease from the gems. (Diamonds love grease).
Enjoy daily your jewelry :-) !Answer: Jewellers rouge with a soft cloth ,or a very fine and soft ...
Jewellers rouge with a soft cloth ,or a very fine and soft brush.Toothpaste should not be a preferred choice ,even though it works. It is rather abrasive on jewelry for the most part and, not to wise for fine and precious metals or gems. Also, if the toothbrush has hard brussels it will most likely loosen yours gems from their settings .I say ditto ,to Philip's answer. He indefinitely knows what he is talk- in about. but, Personally I prefer white jewellers rouge over mild soap.It makes metals and precious stones glisten to their fullest.Question: Diamond ring?

Take it to a professional jewelers. They will replace the band and take out some diamonds quite cheaply. But, before you get rid of the diamonds, make sure you don't want them. Once they're out, it's very hard to put them back in, lol.......Answer: That sounds easy. You just need a new ring setting for your ...
That sounds easy. You just need a new ring setting for your stones. Jewelers have books showing a variety of ring settings as well as something you may see in the store. Just show the jeweler what you want. Be sure you have your ring with you because he will need to measure your stones before ordering. (This can be done without removing your stones from your original setting). The cost would be the price of the new setting... (maybe a small setting charge too). Pricing varies on the gold (white gold, yellow gold 14K, yellow gold 10K etc). The higher the karat, the more gold in the ring... however the higher the karat, the softer the gold. Fourteen and ten karat are good for rings. Also, more gold...higher price. You will have to decide on the type of setting you like. Channel set, prong, etc. Check out ring settings at several stores including a diamond exchange. The larger stores that specialize in this may give you a better price. Very important...be sure the jeweler sets your stones in front of you. Occasionally (although not often) a jeweler may switch your stones for his benefit. This happened tofriend so be sure to watch your stones being set. Do not leave the stones with the jeweler to be set either. If this is requested, then just go to another jeweler. |
