Question: query on my stamped diamond & sapphire gold ring?
Can someone please tell me what it means when my gold ring is stamped with a number 3 and also to the opposite side are letters which are M...then what looks like 2 little lines and then a Z, I need to know what this means, if anyone out their knows.

Answer: is it an old ring? It could be a "maker's ...
is it an old ring? It could be a "maker's mark". I would also take a look at it under a magnifying glass to see if those 2 little lines might have formed a letter at some point. If you are still unsure and the ring is old, look in your local phone book for and estate jeweler. They specialize in identifying and reselling old jewelry. They might have a clue who made it and what the marks mean.

Those are the marks of the manufacturer (M-Z) and a code for the weight of the gold used in the ring. 3 may mean they used 13 karat gold, but that's just an educated guess. It could also mean 23 karat. You can take it to most any reputable jeweler and he/she will tell you exactly what they mean (and they should do it for free). .

Answer: umm it could be the ID number or the company. Good luck

Question: Diamond Ring Help?
I am buying an engagement ring 1.20 ct round solitaire, ideal cut. Now i'm spending about $8500 Is it better to go G color with VS1 or E/F color with VS2 or I can go G color, VS2, but get an extra 0.04 ct Any help greatly appreciated.

Answer: e/f vs2 would be a better choice it will be clearer
e/f vs2 would be a better choice it will be clearer

I would sacrifice the Vs1..The inclusions are really small in VS2, usually and I hate yellowish looking diamonds (unless they are canary diamonds!!!)...don't sacrifice either for the size!!!!!the size is great! and a better quality diamond will have way more value in the future than a bigger stone!

Answer: Mmmmm, I'd go E/F VS2.... or the 1.24ct G VS2 if it;s ...
Mmmmm, I'd go E/F VS2.... or the 1.24ct G VS2 if it;s the same price.... really, at VS level, the inclusions are pretty small, and not noticeable to the naked eye. You just need to decide if you want a higher color, or if you really want the extra 4 pts of carat weight.. again, not really noticeable, but if it makes a difference to you....

Answer: Whether the G/VS1 or the E/F/VS2, the differences will be so ...
Whether the G/VS1 or the E/F/VS2, the differences will be so minor when looking at it with your naked eye when it's set in the ring. The G color falls into the near colorless range instead of the colorless range, so it is something to think about, however just to let you know, most people can't tell the differences between an F color and a G color when the diamond is in it's setting. This also applies to the VS clarity ranges. You shouldn't be able to see anything with your naked eye. In regards to the E color VS2, make sure there isn't flourescence in the grading report. I say this because an E color VS2 should not be in the same price range as the F color VS2 or G color VS1 unless there is something slightly different with it (i.e.; cut, color, flourescence, polish, symmetry) The F/VS2's and G/VS1's are in the same price range . BTW which lab report do the diamonds come with? In regards to the G/VS2, I would probably pass on that if it's only 0.04 cts more. Really almost no difference at all if you're only getting 0.04ct more, so stick with the better color or clarity. Most people would probably tell you to go with the better color, but I think it depends on all the factors as a whole. For example where are the inclusions located on the diamonds? are there fllourescence? Is the polish and symmetry both excellent? Or are there Goods or Very Goods on the reports? Also what is the cut grade on the stone? I know you mentioned they are all ideal cuts but different tables and depths will have the diamond sparkling a little different. I know it seems like a lot to consider but all in all take a look at both stones in different lighting and see which one speaks to you more. If you would like a more professional opinion you are more than welcome to email me the two reports and I can give you a better answer based on looking at them. Best of luck!

Question: Which online diamond retailer has better engagement rings: www.bluenile.com or www.jamesallen.com?
I know Bluenile.com is the largest online diamond website, but they seem to "drop ship" what they sell where jamesallen.com seems to be the only website with real diamond images meaning they actualy see every diamond before they ship them.

LAZY!!!! If you really want to marry the girl then get off your computer, take a shower, shave, and go out into the real world to buy the woman you love an engagement ring!!!! (believe me, she will like it a lot more).

I haven't the foggiest idea where you live but if I were you, I would see a real diamond jeweler. You can't buy quality over the internet. You need to see the diamond in real life. And don't ever be afraid to haggle over the price.

Check out www.goodoldgold.com, I founddiamond there. All their diamonds on the website are in-house and they have actual pictures of the diamonds. You can have them ship the diamond to an appraiser near you so you can see the diamond in person.

Answer: try ebay they have diamond sellers there who have been there ...
try ebay they have diamond sellers there who have been there for years and got 99.9% rating. If this guys say its SI clarity it is that.No jerking about at all. Ask yourself this how many shops on the high streets have 99.9% approval? Trust me as a seasoned ebayer if someone sells me a SI eye clean diamond and it aren't then they will suffer bad rating. As long as you know your gems its hard to get cheated . High street jewelers charge way more and give little info on the gem.

Question: 0.50ct P1 diamond ring and a 0.50ct S1 diamond ring , which is better ?
and how much price difference would be between the two ?

Answer: no such thing as a p1 but si1 is ok quality it is eye clean

Answer: http://www.diasource.com/fourcs.htm there is no such ...
http://www.diasource.com/fourcs.htm there is no such thing as a p1 diamond. p refers to color. p means your diamond is going to have a slight yellowish color to it. f means flawless, and that it is a brilliant white diamond. if you want the best, look for an F diamond. since there is no p1 diamond, and an s1 means there are slight defects in the ring I cant really answer this question becasue one of the diamonds doesnt exist, and the other isnt really that good, but I dont have anything to compare it too

Answer: P1 (piqué) stands for I1 probably. In case that is so and ...
P1 (piqué) stands for I1 probably. In case that is so and S1 stands for SI1, then for sure take the SI1. I stones are seriously included and can have stability problems. Value comparison would be a relationship of 10 for SI1 to 7 for I1 as a very general calculation.
