Yes you can. Usually the best methods are soft brush and mild soap without bleeching agents (might attac the metals), or the ultrasonic cleaning machine. No other gems should go into the ultrasonic. I made jewelry for over 20 years, and never heard or sold a ring with a serial # inside it! The only numbers I knew about or saw were ID numbers lasered inside diamonds to identify them for a few companies. I still get catalogs for ring mounts and premade jewelry and none of THEM have numbers in the ring shank.
