Welcome to JewelrySoupJewelrySoup: Cubic Zirconia Jewelry, Cubic Zirconia Age,cubic Zirconia Shape Question: How long does well-made cubic zirconia last?

Depending on how well you take care of it, and how often you wear it, they can last for years.
I totally support you on the diamond trade boycott. The movie Blood Diamond is only a sugar-coating of what's really going on.
I'm more into Sapphire.Answer: I've had a real diamond a long time ago and I'll ...
I've had a real diamond a long time ago and I'll tell ya what. Real or cubic if they both get dirty and aren't cleaned they both look fake.
They make cubic's look better now a days I think then the real thing.
I remember brother wanting to buy his "bride to be" a cubic zirconia engangment ring.........she wasn't gonna put it on her finger, she wanted the real deal. I saw the cubic one and saw the one he had to go out and shell a bunch of money on..........and I'll tell ya what. I would have taken the fake, it was a bigger stone and much prettier setting. PLUS who else besides the two of you have to know if its real or not! But if this is a question regarding what to get someone for a ring then you should tell the other person what your intentions are because she make take offense to it. Good Luck with why ever you asked! PS My brother got divorced not too long after that.Question: I am looking into buying a cubic zirconia ring, what shape looks the most geniuine?
Answer: Okay, yes I've done this too and I'm not ashamed to ...
Okay, yes I've done this too and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I like cz jewelry. And believe it or not you can get some really nice looking, "almost fool them" at some really great jewelry stores. And it's not as exspensive as you may think and it will be of a better quality and with a reptuable jeweler. You can't go wrong with that. Compare and see. And guess whatmore affluent friends do it, I'm sure the rich and famous do it. So join us. Ask the jewelry people, they will help find the shape and design best for you and what you are looking for. BTW, I spent $25 onnecklace at Reed's and still get compliments. I wear it withreal diamond earrings to throw people off.Question: Best Online or Store sites for Synthetic Diamonds and Colored Gems? Not Cubic Zirconia or Simulated Stones.?
I'm completely blank about where to buy Synthetic (man made) jewelry. I'd like l4K settings--I want them to look like quality jewelry, even though I can't afford real stones. Don't want Cubic Zirconia or the other types of simulated diamonds or gems. The Synthetic Diamonds and Colored Gems are man made in a lab. Have the same chemical composition as natural diamonds. Need Newer sites for these new Synthetic diamonds and colored gems. The answers from a year ago may need to be updated. I know about TV sites--which I've tried and been disappointed. I need New Online or Store sites.
PLEASE HELP! Thank you so much.Answer: Check out the www.gemstv.com site. They are an online and ...
Check out the www.gemstv.com site. They are an online and TV auction site, but it is a backwards auction. They sell only quality gemstones and since they own the mines, they cut out the middleman. They have an informational section on the new synthetic diamonds which I believe are called Moissanite. But as for their gems, they have a huge selection of quality stones which are all set in 14-18 kt.Question: Are Gemstones Cubic Zirconia?
Im a bit confuse since "diamonds" are not gemstones like emerald, ruby, sapphire and etc so are they consider as a "crystal" or "cubic zirconia"? I thought only real diamonds have the word "ct" in back of the number? and last but not least how much does the gems are really worth? -thanks =]Answer: Ct stand for Carat. CZ is cubic Zirconia.

Ct stand for Carat. CZ is cubic Zirconia.
CT would be used with real diamonds normally but could be used for cz as a descritpion of the size of the cz stone. CZ is a manufactured item, not natural.Answer: CT is the total carat weight. I think you are thoroughly ...
CT is the total carat weight. I think you are thoroughly confused. Almost any gem is measured in carats. You can't assume a stones worth by it's weight alone, there are MANY other factors to consider. Diamonds are not crystals, crystals are their own stone and can be natural or created. Cubic zirconia is a lab-created/man made stone, and it is not a diamond, just a diamond replica.Answer: carat (ct) pertains to the size of the stone. (weight) ...
carat (ct) pertains to the size of the stone. (weight)
read at least the first two paragraphs of the link, it might help.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemstone
finally the cost depends on the gem. some are worth more than others. birthstone is garnet and it is not a real expensive gem at all. some of the cost of a ring is determined by the setting, (silver, gold, platinum)Answer: A gemstone is a piece of mineral or rock which is used in ...
A gemstone is a piece of mineral or rock which is used in jewelry. Therefore a diamond is a gemstone. A cubic zirconia is a lab-created (man-made) diamond (therefore also a gemstone). So to answer your main question, no, not all gemstones are cubic zirconias. And a lot of jewelry may specify the carat weight (CT), but it's mostly seen on diamonds (or lab-created diamonds). A lot of factors determine how much a gemstone is worth - carat weight and rarity probably being the most important. Other factors include cut, color, and clarity.Comment from :

Yes. A diamond rates a 10 on Moh's hardness scale, so it can scratch any other mineral. All you have to do is to get a handmirror and if it can scratch it, it is a real diamond. If it can't, its fake. Diamonds have a more brilliant luster and are better quality as well.Answer: Other gems then diamond will cut glass, including CZ and ...
Other gems then diamond will cut glass, including CZ and other pieces of glass! I wish people would stop spreading that old wives' tale like fact.
A trained jeweler could tell you immediately whether a stone was CZ or diamond, either by machine, or viewing the stone's physical characteristics through a loupe. Take it to your jeweler. |
