Why don't you ask your boyfriend what it means??? Why ask a bunch of strangers who don't know what your relationship is like. You'll get a ton of different opinions and some of them could be rude. Or, just accept that he's given you something. Obviously he cares about you, and wanted to give you something pretty. Sometimes, it's better not to question things.

Answer: Although it is rather difficult to tell the difference ...
Although it is rather difficult to tell the difference between the two, there are a few ways to. First, a cubic zirconia is usually much duller in clarity than a real diamond is. Second, a cubic zirconia (if you look vveeerrrryyy) closley, has more flaws in it than a diamond. Lastly, the lustre of a cubic zirconia is much duller than a diamond. Take the ring to a jeweler, some of them have machines that can tell whether the stone is a diamond or not.

If it is big enough, breath on it and see if it holds a fog. If it does then it is not real, if it is real it will not hold the fog. Another way is try to scratch it with the sharp end of a knife, diamonds will not scratch by anything other than another diamond.

Answer: Here are some of the differences: 1) Cubic zirconia are ...
Here are some of the differences: 1) Cubic zirconia are flawless when compared to natural diamonds. Most natural diamonds have some sort of inclusion in them some you can see with the naked eye, other inclusions you can see with a loop. If you look at a cubic zirconia under a loop, it is flawless. 2) Cubic zirconia has more fire than a diamond. However, its refraction index is lower than a diamond. Which means that a diamond will refract more light, which is what gives it that "sparkle". 3) Cubic zirconia is heavier than a natural diamond, about 1.5 times heavier. 4) Diamonds are harder than a cubic zirconia. It is 10 in Mohs scale whereas a cubic zirconia registers 8.5. 5) Last, but not least, cubic zirconia are so much more affordable than a naturally mined diamond. Diamonds are overpriced and overhyped by DeBeers and the diamond industry. For more information on cubic zirconia, visit: http://www.almostdiamonds.com/what-is-cubic-zirconia-a-3.html
